Marmorek, Oscar

   Austrian architect and Zionist leader. He was born in Skala, Galicia. He built important buildings in Vienna and Austria, and designed synagogues based on old Jewish architecture. After the publication of Theodor Herzl's Der Judenstaat, Marmorek joined Herzl and was elected to the executive of the Zionist Organization at the first six Zionist Congresses. He was a co-founder of the Zionist weekly Die Welt.
